The Policy and Guidance for the Use of Reasonable Force to Control or Restrain Pupils for Caerphilly County Borough Council (CCBC) is provided within the context of the guidance contained in Section 93 of the Education and Inspections Act 2006. These powers commenced in October 2010 and replaced Section 550A of the Education Act 1996, with minor changes. The legal context and guidance has been taken from the Welsh Government’s document Safe and effective intervention – use of reasonable force and searching for weapons and section 93 of The Education and Inspectors Act 2006.
