Headteacher – Mr Lewis

My name is David Lewis. I have been the Headteacher at Aberbargoed Primary School since September 2008 and have been a headteacher at other schools since January 1999!

I enjoy working at our school because our children respond so well to new challenges and different ways of working. My job is all about improving the learning and teaching at our school. This is great fun because I get to spend money on improving our school environment, making sure we have the most up to date resources and arranging really exciting learning activities for our children.

Fortunately I have great colleagues who also want to do the best for the children and make sure School is fun,  so I have a very rewarding and enjoyable job. I love coming to school.

When I’m not in School I like watching sport, keeping fit and going to the cinema and theatre.

I am a Manchester United fan but I have a Cardiff City season ticket and watch the Bluebirds. Members of my family  and friends support Swansea, Liverpool, Manchester City,  and Spurs so things can be a bit tense at times!

My favourite musical is West Side Story and my favourite films are ET and Miracle on 34th Street. I’m also a fan of Queen and Take That but don’t tell anyone!

I love chocolate and eating lemon meringue, so I run three or four times a week to burn those calories off!
