Headteacher – Miss Everson
My name is Sally Everson. I will be Headteacher at School from January 2022 and I have been Deputy Headteacher at Aberbargoed since September 2017. I love my job! Working with children means everyday is different and I learn something new from them every single day.
Helping children develop their confidence and achieve their potential is my goal. I enjoy working with staff in school to explore new opportunities for learning. Working with great colleagues in school, our job is to make school a safe, enjoyable and exciting place to be. My role also involves making sure the environment of the school is suitable for learning and ensuring we have up to date resources that allow our learners to be successful.
When I’m not in school I like to take my dog, Willow, for walks. We both enjoy spending time at the beach and exploring rock pools. I also like to watch ‘Bake Off’; I’m always impressed with the talent shown by the bakers – my baking skills aren’t quite as advanced!
I used to do a lot of singing when I was younger so I’m often found singing along to the radio in the car. I’m a huge Disney fan and love musical theatre. My favourite musicals are Les Miserables, Wicked and the Lion King. My favourite book growing up was Matilda, by Roald Dahl; I remember this being read to me in primary school by a teacher. I hope to create as many happy memories for the children of Aberbargoed as I am fortunate to have of my time in school.
