Aberbargoed Primary is a set in the heart of the community of Aberbargoed. We are a community focused school who believe that learners and families should be at the heart of all our decision making. We aim to make our school a nurturing, safe and happy environment for learners where everyone feels they are valued. Prioritising pupil wellbeing, we believe, provides learners with the best start in life.
We aspire for all our learners to become:
• ambitious, capable learners who are ready to learn throughout their lives;
• enterprising, creative contributors who and are ready to play a full part in life and work;
• ethical, informed citizens who and are ready to be citizens of Wales and the world;
• healthy, confident individuals who are ready to lead fulfilling lives as valued members of society.
In order to achieve this, our school works collaboratively to provide the highest quality teaching and learning experiences; rich in knowledge, skills and enrichment opportunities that broaden the horizons of our learners. We are committed to providing an inclusive environment where the needs of all children are met and our school ethos “Everyone Matters”, “Mae Pawb Yn Bwysig” comes to life. We aim to provide a curriculum that is relevant, engaging and innovative; inspiring every child to achieve their potential. Our curriculum builds on prior knowledge and encourages personal development as learners become confident, resilient, problem solvers, ready to take on the exciting challenges ahead in life.
Developing learners as informed citizens within a local, national and international context, our goal is to uncover a world of possibilities and pathways to success. We celebrate differences and encourage respect for diversity. As a school in Wales we are proud of our heritage and embrace this throughout our curriculum and wider learning opportunities for pupils. Working together as a network of support we believe we can achieve anything!
We welcome visitors to school to share in our learning journey, so please contact us if you have any queries.
